How it works

Treatment kills the growth. Rain and wind carry it away. Here is what to expect, week by week.

After treatment

What you will see

Typical timings. Shade, moisture and the season all change the pace.

  1. Day 1

    Application

The treatment goes on at low pressure and starts working on the moss, mould and lichen straight away.

  2. Weeks 1 to 3

    The growth dies back

It turns brown or orange. That is it dying, and it is meant to happen.

  3. Weeks 2 to 3

    A light wash

On walls, paths and driveways we come back for a gentle, low-pressure wash. The dead growth comes off easily, with the dirt.

  4. Weeks 4 to 8

    The weather does the rest

On roofs, rain and wind carry off the dead growth. No scrubbing, no blasting.

  5. 3 to 6 months

    The full result

Most surfaces are clean by about three months and fully clear by about six, depending on the weather.

Treatment or water blasting

Why we treat

High-pressure blasting

  • Removes what you can see and leaves the roots
  • High pressure can strip paint and harm roofing materials
  • Uses a lot of water
  • Needs doing again sooner

Kingdom Treatment

  • Kills moss, mould and lichen at the source
  • Low pressure application, gentle on surfaces
  • Uses far less water
  • Lasts longer, so you need it less often

We always treat first. On walls, paths and driveways, a gentle low-pressure wash follows 2 to 3 weeks later, once the growth is dead. For high-risk areas, such as shaded roofs and damp paths, a yearly treatment is recommended.
